Job summary

Aecon Construction Solutions Inc. is seeking an experienced Gasfitter – Class A to join our industrial team for the BHP Wet Mill project. The role involves installing and maintaining gas systems, reading blueprints, and mentoring apprentices on a fast-paced site.

Camp accommodations are provided. Competitive hourly rate around $51 with overtime after 8 hours/day or 40 hours/week, plus a transportation allowance based on residency. Fluency in English required.

Qualifications

• Fluent English required for written and verbal communication.
• Journeyperson Certification or in-progress apprenticeship is required.
• CSTS-20, Fall Protection and MEWP certifications mandatory.
• Class A Certification is required for gasfitting.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair and maintain gas meters, regulators, lines and appliances.
• Test and replace defective equipment.
• Measure, cut, thread and assemble pipe with standard tools.
• Attend gas-escape calls and assist in investigations.
• Read and interpret drawings and blueprints.
• Journeyperson mentors apprentices.

Position Overview

ACSI is seeking experienced Gasfitter – Class A to join our industrial team to support project requirements.

• Installing,repairingandmaintaininggas meters, regulators, gaslinesand gas appliances.
• Testing and replacing defective equipment.
• Measure, cut,threadand assemble pipe using tools such as pipe cutters, pipe threadingmachinesand pipe vices.
• Attending to gas-escape calls andassistingin the investigation of gas fires and explosions.
• Reading and interpreting drawings and blueprints.
• Journeypersonwill mentor apprentices.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements and Experience

• Valid Provincial Journeyperson Certification or indentured into a provincial apprenticeship program
• CSTS-20 Certificate
• Fall Protection Certificate
• Mobile Elevated Work Platform Certificate
• Class A Certification
• Experience as a Gasfitter in an industrial construction environment.
• Proven ability to work independently and as a part of a team in a fast-paced setting.
• Ability to lift and work with materials weighing up to 25kg.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions and environments.
• Must have a strong understanding of industrial safety procedures and policies.
• Must be fluent in English, both written and verbal.

Project: BHP Wet Mill

Rate: $51.00 per hour

Overtime: After 8 hours/ day or 40 hours/ week

Schedule: 14x7 (days/nights), 11 hours per shift

Camp: Yes

Allowances: Transportation allowance ranging from $0<85km to $1,406.00>2,000km provided based on approved proof of residency documented submitted
