Job summary

Pacific Northern Gas Ltd. in Fort St. John, BC, is seeking a qualified Gasfitter Class B for our Northwest Operations.

The role includes repairing and maintaining residential and commercial gas systems, performing safety inspections, meter work, and responding to emergencies. You will work in adverse weather and travel within PNG systems may be required. The position operates in our bargaining unit with an hourly rate of $48.89, requiring a Class B license and completion of the Gas Fitter

Qualifications

Grade 12 education.
Valid BC Class 5 Driver’s License.
Must hold a valid Gasfitter Class B License and have completed the two-year Gas Fitters Apprenticeship Program or other Company recognized training.
Electrical endorsement required for Class GBEE ticket holders.
Experience in electronics, appliance repairs and trouble shooting.
Must demonstrate safe work habits and adherence to safety regulations.
Ability to work long hours in adverse weather and terrain conditions.

Responsibilities

Repair and adjust residential and commercial equipment on customer premises; install and maintain gas measurement and pressure regulation equipment.
Operate and maintain a stand-by station for emergency or peak shaving.
Promote gas sales and sign up new customers; read meters; investigate gas leaks; perform safety inspections.
Provide training and direction to subordinate technicians; assist with CSR duties; respond to emergencies on the distribution system.
