Job summary

David Aplin Recruiting is seeking a skilled Gasfitter A to join our maintenance team. The successful candidate will install, maintain, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and commission natural gas and fuel gas systems and related equipment.

The Gasfitter A will work closely with maintenance, operations, engineering, and other trades to ensure gas systems are safe, compliant, and operating efficiently. This role offers a competitive hourly rate with daily overtime, and an annual range of

Qualifications

Valid Gasfitter A certification/licence recognized by the provincial authority.
Journeyperson certification or equivalent trade qualification.
Experience with natural gas, fuel gas, and industrial gas systems.
Experience installing, servicing, and troubleshooting gas-fired equipment.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, piping layouts and schematics.
Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

Install, maintain, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair natural gas and fuel gas systems and equipment.
Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on gas distribution systems.
Install and service gas-fired equipment including furnaces, boilers, heaters, burners, and other industrial appliances.
Diagnose and repair gas leaks, pressure issues, and control problems.
Perform gas pressure testing, leak testing, inspections, and commissioning.
Read drawings and site layouts; complete piping installations per codes.
Inspect systems to identify deficiencies and safety hazards.
Coordinate work with operations, maintenance, and other trades.
