Job summary

ATCO Gas in Camrose, AB is hiring for an Operator – Service (Gas Fitter) to install, inspect, adjust and service natural gas equipment, meters, regulators and piping for the gas utility system. You will plan projects, respond to service requests, and maintain safety standards on various sites.

The role requires a Class A Gasfitter ticket (Class B considered), a valid Alberta driver’s license, and the ability to work evenings/weekends as needed. Residency near Camrose is preferred.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or G.E.D.
• Class A Alberta Gasfitter Ticket required; Class B considered.
• Valid Class 5 Alberta Driver’s License is required.
• Proven experience in planning and directing activities of employees.
• Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety regulations and natural gas industry codes.
• Ability to interpret plans, working drawings and material specifications.

Responsibilities

• Install and service natural gas equipment, interpreting technical specifications to determine necessary materials and equipment.
• Plan and execute installation, inspection, and maintenance projects for gas systems.
• Respond to service requests and emergency situations, ensuring the safety of all involved.
• Conduct routine and non-routine maintenance on gas regulating and odorization facilities.
• Investigate gas leaks, odors, and related incidents.
• Engage in the operation and maintenance of gas utility equipment and facilities.
• Perform quality assurance checks and inspections on work completed by other departments and contractors.
• Promote good working relations with external and internal contacts.
• Maintain accurate documentation and records of all service activities.

Education

Class A Alberta Gasfitter Ticket

Class B Alberta Gasfitter Ticket will also be considered

Valid Class 5 Alberta Driver’s License

Experience Planning and Directing Activities of Employees

Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety regulations and natural gas industry codes

About the Role:

• Willingness to be on stand-by for emergencies and participate in shift schedules extending into evenings and weekends.
• Related experience in the upstream gas utility system, meter reading and AMR devices is an asset.

Location Requirements:

• Residency within the Camrose service territory, within 30 minutes of the Camrose office
