Overview:

Pembina Pipeline Corporation’s Empress Gas Plant is recruiting a Gas Plant Operator to join their team. This position is a shift-based role rotating between days and nights (12-hour shifts). The Gas Plant Operator reports to the Operations Foreman in the Gas Services Business Unit (GBU), part of Pembina's Operations Business Division.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

1. Work with a safety conscious attitude and high standard of safety by ensuring proper policies and procedures are followed in relation to operational and maintenance tasks to ensure equipment is properly prepared for maintenance;
2. Work effectively in a team environment in the starting up and/or shutting down various pieces of equipment in the process areas;
3. Visually inspect equipment at periodic intervals to detect malfunctions or repair, identify problems, and recommend solutions;
4. Take immediate and decisive actions in emergencies, plant shutdowns, equipment failures, and plant process deviations;
5. Participate in emergency response activities, including emergency response/preparedness exercises and training;
6. Contribute to a team environment that values equity, inclusion & diversity;
7. Support Pembina’s safety culture of "Zero by Choice" and the “Life Saving Rules.”

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3rd Class Power Engineering certificate required; 2nd Class Power Engineering certificate would be an asset;
• Industry experience, Cryogenic – Extraction Plant, Fractionation, or Cogeneration experience would be an asset;
• Panel/DCS experience would be an asset;
• Continual dedication to ongoing training and development;
• Strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills;
• Ability to multi-task and maintain a flexible attitude to accommodate the variable duties of the position;
• Working knowledge of MS Office applications;
• A commitment to working safely; and
• Minimum of a Class 5 driver’s license.

This position is considered "Safety Sensitive" so will require Pre-Employment Drug & Alcohol Testing. You may also be required to provide a Driver’s Abstract.

The successful candidate must live within 100 km of Pembina Empress Facility.

The successful candidate must be legally able to work in the country of the position. The final candidate will be required to undergo Pre-Employment Background Checks including a Criminal Record Check.
