Job summary

Enbridge Gas in Ontario is seeking a Utility Service Technician II to safely operate and maintain our natural gas distribution system. You will work independently with a skilled field team, performing maintenance, repairs, inspections, and emergency responses to ensure safe and reliable service for customers.

This role emphasizes safety, equipment handling, and customer service, with opportunities to mentor trainees and coordinate complex maintenance projects.

Qualifications

• Minimum Grade 12 education or equivalent.
• Five or more years of related utility service, gas distribution, pipeline operations, or field maintenance experience.
• Able to maintain all required TSSA licences and Operator Qualifications (OQs).
• Strong interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Safely and independently perform pipeline repairs, maintenance activities, valve work, meter services, construction inspections, and distribution station maintenance.
• Respond to natural gas emergencies, including leak investigations, odor complaints, line breaks, and coordination with emergency response agencies and regulatory authorities.
• Support project execution within and outside your home area to assist operational teams across the region.
• Mentor trainees and less experienced employees by sharing technical knowledge and providing constructive coaching and feedback.
• Assist in planning and coordinating complex maintenance and operational projects executed by field crews.
• Deliver exceptional customer service while building positive relationships with customers, contractors, and external stakeholders.
• Promote safety excellence through damage prevention awareness initiatives and adherence to company standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
