Job summary

Enbridge Gas is seeking a Utility Service Technician II to safely operate and maintain our natural gas distribution system. Working independently and with a skilled field team, you will perform maintenance, repairs, inspections, and respond to emergencies to ensure safe, reliable service for customers.

Candidates should have Grade 12, 5+ years in related utility roles, TSSA licences, a valid driver’s license, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Minimum Grade 12 education or equivalent.
• Five or more years of directly related utility service, gas distribution, pipeline operations, or field maintenance experience.
• Able to maintain all required TSSA licences and Operator Qualifications (OQs).
• Strong interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills.
• Valid driver’s licence with a safe driving record and the ability to meet standby response requirements.
• Basic computer skills and the ability to learn and use company software applications.
• Physically capable of performing demanding field work while wearing required personal protective equipment.

Responsibilities

• Safely and independently perform pipeline repairs, maintenance activities, valve work, meter services, construction inspections, and distribution station maintenance.
• Respond to natural gas emergencies, including leak investigations, odor complaints, line breaks, and coordination with emergency response agencies and regulatory authorities.
• Support project execution within and outside your home area to assist operational teams across the region.
• Mentor trainees and less experienced employees by sharing technical knowledge and providing constructive coaching and feedback.
• Assist in planning and coordinating complex maintenance and operational projects executed by field crews.
• Deliver exceptional customer service while building positive relationships with customers, contractors, and external stakeholders.
• Promote safety excellence through damage prevention awareness initiatives and adherence to company standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
