Job summary

Dodds Garage Doors is seeking a hands-on Technician Trainee for Cambridge, ON. No prior garage door experience is required; candidates should be mechanically inclined, reliable, and eager to learn.

A valid driver’s license and clean driving record are required as you will support seasoned installers and gain on-the-job skills. As an Installer Trainee, you’ll work with lead technicians, learn garage door systems, installations, service calls, and customer communication.

• Candidate must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Support all residential and commercial jobs.
• Keep the job site clean, safe, and organized.
• Stay one step ahead to help the team move efficiently.
• Learn proper use of tools, equipment, and safety protocols.
• Maintain a clean and well-stocked vehicle.
• Interact with customers with professionalism and courtesy.
• Lift and move heavy materials (50+ lbs).
• Work in various weather conditions.
• Follow direction, stay engaged, and ask questions to accelerate learning.

A Day in the Life of an Technician Trainee

As a Installer Trainee, you’ll be paired with lead garage door technicians, learning the ins and outs of garage door systems, installations, service calls, and customer communication. Every day is hands-on and different, giving you a chance to gain real-world experience and build your future in a stable and rewarding trade.
