Job summary

Team Town Sports is hiring a Full-Time Shipper/Receiver to manage the handling, care, storage, and distribution of goods. You will process shipments, maintain inventory integrity, and support customer service and backroom organization in a fast-paced retail environment.

You will report to the Operations Manager and uphold safety standards while ensuring timely flow of products from receiving to sales floor. Prior shipping/receiving experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Handle all incoming and outgoing shipments from vendors, distributors, and inter-store transfers.
  • Process shipments within 24 hours of receipt and maintain records for reporting.
  • Follow receiving standards and maintain organized backroom per safety SOPs.
  • Assist with merchandising execution to maximize sales and customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with DSMs to ensure timely replenishment of merchandise.
  • Support customer service, e-commerce fulfillment, and floor assistance as needed.
  • Control inventory shortages by following loss prevention practices and stock management.

Job Description

As a Full-Time Shipper/Receiver with Team Town Sports, you will play a crucial role in the smooth operation of the store by managing the handling, care, storage, and distribution of goods. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will ensure merchandise is processed accurately and efficiently, supporting the timely flow of products from the receiving area to the sales floor. While also maintaining high standards of inventory integrity, customer service, and backroom organization while upholding safety and operational excellence. You will lead with passion, embodying the principles of the Game Ready Program, which is built on the same values that guide high-performing teams in sports: preparation, consistency, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Customer Service
  • Create an environment where the customer is at the centre of what we do.
  • Provides excellent customer service in all aspects of service including each step of the shipping process and warehouse responsibilities.
Operations
  • Handles all incoming and outgoing shipments direct from vendors, third party distributor and inter-store merchandise transfers.
  • Ensure that all incoming shipments are processed within 24 hours of receipt.
  • Process all required paperwork and maintain adequate records for reporting and tracking.
  • Ensure proper receiving standards are followed as per Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and organized backroom according to policies, procedures and safety regulations.
  • Assist with proper merchandising execution to maximize sales, earnings, and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure full compliance with standard operating procedures and safety regulations for all shipping and receiving tasks.
  • Collaborate with Department Sales Managers (DSMs) to ensure merchandise replenishment is timely and efficient.
  • Support the business needs, including customer service, e-commerce fulfillment, and assisting on the sales floor as required.
  • Control inventory shortages by adhering to loss prevention practices and ensuring accurate stock management.
Leadership & Accountability
  • Lead by example in terms of energy, effort, and attitude, ensuring you are 'Game Ready' each day.
  • Actively participate in daily huddles, providing insights and feedback to enhance team performance.
  • Adhere to all Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), specifically employee responsibilities and reporting requirements.
  • Mentor and coach team members on best practices in receiving and backroom organization.
What You'll Bring

  • Ability to lift, bend, and carry objects up to 50 lbs continuously.
  • Must be able to use necessary equipment (e.g. Pump truck).
  • Must wear safety shoes
