Job summary

Securiguard Services Ltd. in Burnaby is looking for a Mobile Security Guard to secure client properties, patrol sites by foot and vehicle, and respond to alarms and emergencies. The role includes incident reporting and rotating shifts to support safety.

You will collaborate with police and emergency services as needed, maintain a professional demeanor, and provide customer service to patrons and clients while enforcing property rules.

Qualifications

• BC Security License (BST).
• Class 5 Driver's License with clean abstract.
• Minimum of 3 years in security and 2 years driving in Lower Mainland.
• OFA Level 1 or equivalent.
• Ability to work 12-hour graveyard shifts on a rotating schedule.

Responsibilities

• Secure premises by locking and unlocking gates, doors, and access points per client protocols.
• Conduct mobile and foot patrols across multiple client properties.
• Respond promptly to fire alarms, elevator entrapments, and intrusion alarms.
• Remove unauthorized individuals while maintaining safety and professionalism.
• Enforce property rules, city by laws, and applicable legislation.
• Maintain a visible presence and provide customer service to patrons and clients.
• Complete detailed incident reports and maintain patrol records.
• Report safety hazards, equipment malfunctions, or unusual activity.
• Adhere to company policies, safety standards, and site procedures.

As the Mobile Security Guard, you will take on a varied and dynamic role that involves securing client properties by locking and unlocking gates, conducting thorough foot and vehicle patrols, responding swiftly to alarms and emergencies and safely removing unauthorized individuals. No day is the same in this fast-paced position. This role provides valuable exposure to real-world security operations, including regular collaboration with police and emergency services. Through incident response, patrol duties, detailed report writing, and rotating shift work, you will gain practical experience that supports a future career in security or law enforcement.

What You Would Do

• Secure premises by locking and unlocking gates, doors, and other access points as per client protocols.
• Conduct mobile and foot patrols, maintaining a static presence on sites across multiple client properties.
• Respond promptly to several types of emergencies, including fire alarms, elevator entrapments, and intrusion alarms.
• Remove unauthorized individuals from premises while maintaining safety and professionalism.
• Enforce property rules, city by laws, and applicable legislation.
• Maintain a visible, approachable presence to promote safety and provide customer service to patrons and clients.
• Complete detailed incident reports, daily security book entries, and maintain accurate records of patrols and activities.
• Report any safety hazards, equipment malfunctions, or unusual activity.
• Adhere to company policies, safety standards, and site-specific procedures.

Job Requirements

• BC Security License (BST)
• Class 5 Driver's License with clean driver's abstract and claims history.
• Minimum of 3 years of security industry experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of driving experience in the Lower Mainland
• Occupational First Aid Level 1 (OFA Level 1) or equivalent
• Ability to work 12 hours graveyard shifts, on a 4 on 3 off, 3 on 4 off rotation on Averaging Agreement
