Job summary

McMan Youth, Family and Community Services Association, Central Region is seeking a full-time Family Support Worker in Innisfail, Alberta. The role involves in-home family support, assessments, coaching parents, and connecting families with community services.

The position requires a post-secondary diploma (or related degree), 1 year frontline experience (3 years preferred), First Aid/CPR, and a valid Class 5 license. Wage range is $25.84–$28.90 CAD per hour with travel reimbursements.

Qualifications

• Post secondary diploma at minimum; preferred degree directly related to Human Services from an approved institution
• Required 1 year of frontline human services experience; preferred 3 years working with families
• Committed to providing common sense, understandable and useful parenting skills
• Basic First Aid Level C with adult, child, and infant CPR & AED
• Intervention Record & Criminal Record Checks with the vulnerable sector
• Class 5 driver's license, clean drivers abstract and reliable vehicle for client transportation
• Knowledge of the Child, Youth, Family Enhancement Act considered an asset

Responsibilities

• In home support to families with children aged 0-18
• Family Assessment and Intervention
• Coaching and mentoring parents
• Life skills training with parents and children (6-18 yrs.)
• Linking families with community services
• Family support and advocacy
• Driving clients to and from designated locations
• Facilitating Case Conferences and Family Support Network Meetings
• Group facilitation of children, youth, and parents
