Job summary

Nova Scotia Health is seeking a Family Medicine physician to join the Pictou West Health Care Centre. The role offers a longitudinal Family Medicine contract with 1.0 FTE and a collaborative, team-based practice serving the community in Pictou, NS.

Join an established practice alongside physicians, NPs, nurses and allied health professionals, with opportunities for hospitalist, emergency, OR assist, long-term care and teaching at nearby Aberdeen Regional Hospital.

Responsibilities

• provide comprehensive, full-scope primary health care to practice patients of all ages and stages of health and illness
• maintain timely and accurate patient records using a provincially approved EMR
• participate in quality improvement, practice evaluation, and other activities that support the delivery of safe, effective, patient-centered care
• attend regular physician and team meetings
• partake in continuing medical education (CME) andprofessional development opportunities
• participate in teaching of medical learners
