Specific Position Duties
- Plan and deliver engaging K–6 physical education programming aligned with the Alberta curriculum
- Organize and support school-wide sporting events, intramurals, and physical activity initiatives
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of physical literacy, movement outcomes, and inclusive participation
- Be willing to obtain relevant certifications and participate in professional learning to enhance the physical education program
- Experience or training in elementary physical education is considered an asset
Qualifications And General Duties
- A valid Alberta Teaching Certificate
- Experience working with Google Suite
- Shall be a dynamic student-centered educator committed to maximizing learning in a safe and caring environment
- Experience and/or training in the application of Assessment for Learning strategies, embedded formative assessment, and varied summative assessments is essential
- Possess a strong background in the use of technology to enhance student learning
- Ability to create a positive learning environment and foster positive professional relationships with students
- Is dependable with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate in a team setting
- Demonstrates a strong commitment to professional growth and continually increasing their effectiveness as an educator
- A willingness to participate in extracurricular activities would be considered an asset
is a K-6 school located in Wainwright, Alberta. Our school serves the communities of Wainwright, Denwood, and the surrounding rural areas. WES is comprised of approximately 400 children from kindergarten to grade six. Our students are served by a staff of approximately 40 caring individuals who strive to develop the whole child.

Wainwright is located in East Central Alberta at the intersection of Buffalo Trail-Highway 41 and Poundmaker Trail-Highway 14, near the beautiful Battle River Valley.
