Job summary

Citylitics is seeking a full stack developer to modernize an established Django + React web application while paying down tech debt on a live, actively-shipping codebase. You will own delivery end-to-end and ship smaller, self-contained custom solutions directly to customers.

You will co-define target patterns with our team, with deep work in Django/DRF or React/TypeScript and strong competence in the other.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years building and maintaining production web applications.
• Experience upgrading a live production codebase with minimal downtime.
• Experience with AI-assisted development workflows and data-driven design decisions.

Responsibilities

• Modernize legacy code and migrate to modern patterns.
• Design docs and technical demos to align stakeholders before building.
• Ship self-contained custom solutions directly to customers and own delivery end-to-end.
• Work with data: investigate datasets using SQL and metrics to ground design decisions.
• Lead modernization efforts and incremental refactors on a live codebase.
