Job summary

GSL Group in Kelowna invites an Accountant to join the Finance team, supporting the Controller and ensuring accurate financial records, reporting, tax compliance, and month-end and year-end processes. Interaction with external accountants and auditors will be part of the role.

Ideal candidates are CPAs or on track to become one, with advanced Excel skills and experience using Microsoft Dynamics, plus hands-on full-cycle accounting in medium to large companies. Based at Prospera Place, Kelowna.

Qualifications

• Chartered professional accountant (CPA) or on track to obtain CPA.
• Hands-on experience in full-cycle accounting for a company.
• Advanced MS Excel skills required.
• Exposure to Microsoft Dynamics advantageous.
• Experience with medium to large-sized companies preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements and reporting according to statutory compliance.
• Complete bank and other account reconciliations.
• Prepare daily sales summaries.
• Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on delinquent accounts.
• Prepare GST/PST tax returns and submit government tax remittances.
• Post intercompany transactions and ensure entries are recorded correctly.
• Complete the month end close processes (journal entries, recurring entries, accruals).
• Prepare quarterly reporting and dashboards.
• Cashflow reporting and monitoring.
• Maintain paper and electronic filing systems for accurate records.
• Proactively resolve discrepancies and outstanding issues.
