Job summary

GSL is seeking an Accountant to join the Finance team at our Prospera Place office in downtown Kelowna. You will support the Controller and broader team in maintaining accurate financial records, reporting, tax compliance, and month-end and year-end processes.

In the ideal case you are a CPA or on track to become one, with hands-on experience in full-cycle accounting. Advanced MS Excel skills and exposure to Microsoft Dynamics, plus experience with mid-to large-sized companies, will earn you

Qualifications

• CPA or in progress with hands-on accounting exposure.
• Experience in full-cycle accounting and month-end close.
• Advanced MS Excel skills and familiarity with ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements and reporting according to statutory compliance.
• Complete bank and other account reconciliations.
• Prepare daily sales summaries.
• Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on delinquent accounts.
• Prepare GST/PST tax returns and submit government tax remittances.
• Post intercompany transactions and ensure all entries are correct.
• Complete the month end close processes with journal entries and accruals.
• Prepare quarterly reporting and dashboards.
• Cashflow reporting and monitoring.
• Maintain paper and electronic filing systems to provide accurate records.
• Proactively resolve discrepancies and outstanding issues.

As theAccountant, you are an integral member of the Finance team, supporting theController and broader team in maintaining accurate financial records,reporting, tax compliance, and month-end and year-end processes. The role alsoinvolves coordinating with external accountants and auditors and ensuringfinancial matters are resolved accurately and efficiently.

KeyResponsibilities

In a perfectworld, you are a chartered professional accountant (CPA), or well on your wayto being one, with at least a few years of hands-on experience in a full cycleaccountant role. Advanced MS excel skills, exposure to Microsoft Dynamics,along with experience working with medium to large sized companies, will scoreyou extra credit.
