Job summary

The Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA) is a not‑for‑profit regulator dedicated to enhancing public safety across Ontario. As a Fuels Engineer, you’ll work with customers and colleagues to promote compliance, review submissions, and help maintain the integrity of fuel systems that communities depend on daily.

You’ll apply technical expertise to assess compliance with legislation and standards while collaborating with inspectors and industry stakeholders to support public safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering plus a P.Eng. designation in good standing.
• 3–5 years in a regulatory or fuel-industry setting with a strong design background.
• Knowledge of Ontario regulations, safety codes, and CSA/ASME standards.
• Experience with engineering quality management and electronic records.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate compliance of fuel systems and devices with regulations and standards.
• Provide technical guidance to clients and stakeholders on regulatory requirements.
• Support incident investigations and root cause analysis to enhance safety.
• Identify safety risks and assist in corrective actions and risk mitigation.
• Collaborate on knowledge sharing, procedures, and guidance documents.
