Job summary

NORTH EASTERN TRUCKING INC is seeking a hands-on technician to perform maintenance and repair of heavy trucks on site. The role involves instructing apprentices, diagnosing faults with testing equipment, ordering parts, and maintaining detailed maintenance records.

The successful candidate will have 2–3 years of experience, a secondary school diploma or equivalent, and welding experience. On-site work with metal processing and emission systems is included.

Qualifications

• Secondary school diploma or equivalent experience.
• 2–3 years of related work experience.
• Welding experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Instruct apprentices.
• Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions.
• Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required.
• Order parts and maintain inventory.
• Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts.
• Keep maintenance reports and documentation.
• Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers' specifications.
• Attach components and adjust new farm equipment.
• Perform repair work on heavy trucks.
• Service attachments and working tools.
• Verify and repair emission control systems.
• Assist process and machine operators in mineral ore and metal processing.
• Perform other routine maintenance.
