Summary:

Reporting to the Group Sales Manager, the Retail Lead is responsible for overseeing the successful day-to-day operation of a retail store department.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide supervision and leadership to the team members of the department, in partnership with the manager.
  • Delegate tasks and work assignments to team members by giving clear and concise directions, and follow up to ensure proper execution.
  • Foster the growth and development of team members by training on standard operating procedures and processes.
  • Ensure team members follow all standard operating procedures and systems processes, providing correction and guidance when needed, and reporting violations to the manager.
  • Perform administrative tasks related to their assigned department.
  • Provide excellent customer service by identifying and evaluating customers’ needs and making product recommendations based on this analysis.
  • Promote company programs to team members and customers.
  • Maintain visual presentation standards including signage, merchandise recovery/front facing, restocking, remerchandising, dusting, and vacuuming the sales floor as needed.
  • Respond to and resolve customer issues by using good judgment and logic in problem-solving and decision-making within the job scope.
  • Assist in other areas of the store when business needs dictate.
Qualifications:
  • Two or more years of supervisory experience in a sales or service environment preferred.
  • Open availability to work store opening and closing shifts, including weekends.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to evaluate customer needs and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Ability to provide superior customer service and exceed expectations.
  • Good judgment and logical decision-making skills.
  • Experience in a related field or outdoor lifestyle preferred.
  • Knowledge of Bass Pro Shops & Cabela’s products is an asset.
