Summary:

Reporting to the Group Sales Manager, the Retail Lead oversees the successful day-to-day operation of a retail store department.

Responsibilities:

1. Provide supervision and leadership to the team members of the department, in partnership with the manager.
2. Delegate tasks and work assignments to team members with clear and concise directions, and follow up to ensure proper execution.
3. Foster the growth and development of team members through training on standard operating procedures and processes.
4. Ensure team members follow all standard operating procedures and system processes, providing correction and guidance when needed, and reporting violations to the manager.
5. Perform administrative tasks related to their assigned department.
6. Provide exceptional customer service by identifying and evaluating customer needs, and making product recommendations based on this analysis.
7. Promote company programs to team members and customers.
8. Maintain visual presentation standards, including in-store signage, merchandise recovery/front facing, restocking, remerchandising, dusting, and vacuuming the sales floor as needed.
9. Respond to and resolve customer issues using good judgment and problem-solving skills within the scope of the job.
10. Assist in other store areas as needed based on business requirements.

Qualifications:

1. At least two years of supervisory experience in a sales or service environment preferred.
2. Open availability to work store opening and closing shifts, including weekends.
3. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
4. Ability to evaluate customer needs and recommend suitable products.
5. Ability to deliver superior customer service and exceed expectations.
6. Good judgment and logical decision-making skills.
7. Experience in outdoor lifestyle or related fields.
8. Knowledge of Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s specific products is an asset.
