Job summary

Calgary Co-op is hiring a Front-End Service Clerk to support a safe, efficient operation and uphold company policies. You will serve customers, handle merchandise, and maintain a clean, organized sales floor while following health and safety regulations.

The role requires English fluency and prior retail experience, with responsibilities including opening/closing duties, stocking, and assisting in deliveries to ensure customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Grade 9 or acceptable combination of education and experience.
• Must be fluent in English (CLBA - Canadian Language Benchmark Assessment score of 5 or higher).
• Previous retail or related experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides customer service and maintains positive customer relations through the proper handling of questions, comments, requests and complaints.
• Handles merchandise ensuring quality, minimizing damages and markdowns; cleans spills and display fixtures to keep department neat.
• Performs duties following Occupational Health and Safety, Food Safety and Environmental regulations.
• Ensures proper care, use and maintenance of equipment and reports repairs.
• Performs opening/closing duties, sets up storefront, assists in organizing deliveries, and supports checkout operations.
• Hangs signs and provides change for cashiers as needed.
