Job summary

Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) is seeking a Front-End Developer Level 2 for a 12-month contract. You will design, develop, test, and maintain modern, accessible web applications for OLG Digital, using React/Vue.js with JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, and AEM integration.

Collaborate across teams to deliver scalable, high-performance user experiences. The role emphasizes building reusable components, enhancing templates, and implementing RESTful integrations in an enterprise

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of professional experience developing modern web applications, with a strong focus on front-end development.
  • Strong hands-on experience with React and/or Vue.js, as well as JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, and Java, with experience building and integrating modern web applications and RESTful services.
  • Experience building responsive, accessible, and high-performing user interfaces for enterprise-scale web applications.
  • Experience with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), including component and template development, is preferred.

  • Gather requirements, define scope, estimate effort, and design scalable technical solutions with business stakeholders.
  • Design, develop, configure, and maintain responsive, accessible, and high-performing web experiences using Adobe Experience Manager (AEM).
  • Build and enhance AEM templates, components, content models, permissions, and policies for enterprise-grade digital solutions.
  • Develop reusable front-end components, libraries, and patterns that promote consistency and maintainability.
  • Collaborate with UX designers, architects, QA analysts, and back-end developers to deliver intuitive user experiences.
  • Integrate front-end applications with RESTful APIs and other enterprise services.
  • Continuously optimize applications for performance, accessibility, scalability, and cross-browser compatibility.
  • Perform unit testing, troubleshooting, and support activities throughout the SDLC.
  • Contribute to CI/CD and assist in deployment planning and release activities.

Range: 66,400.00 - 99,600.00 CAD Job Description: Front-End Developer Level 2 (12 months contract)

We are ready to take this game to the next level and are looking for a passionate Front-End Developer to join our team. In this role, you will be accountable for the design, assessment, development, implementation, configuration, and testing of modern, responsive, and accessible web applications for OLG Digital. You will leverage modern front-end technologies and frameworks to deliver robust new features and functionality while ensuring seamless integration with RESTful APIs and cloud-based services. The ideal candidate brings strong experience in front-end development, application analysis, and creating intuitive, high-performing user experiences. Collaborating closely with UX designers, architects, developers, and business stakeholders across OLG, you will help transform business requirements into scalable digital solutions that drive desired business outcomes.

YOUR ROLE IN THE GAME

Reporting to the Sr Manager Digital Solution Development, you will be empowered to:

  • Partner with business stakeholders and product teams to gather requirements, define scope, estimate effort, and design scalable technical solutions.
  • Design, develop, configure, and maintain responsive, accessible, and high-performing web experiences using Adobe Experience Manager (AEM).
  • Build and enhance AEM templates, components, content models, permissions, and policies to support enterprise-grade digital solutions across web and mobile channels.
  • Develop reusable front-end components, libraries, and patterns that promote consistency, maintainability, and scalability.
  • Collaborate with UX designers, architects, QA analysts, and back-end developers to deliver intuitive and engaging user experiences.
  • Integrate front-end applications with RESTful APIs and other enterprise services.
  • Continuously optimize applications for performance, accessibility, scalability, and cross-browser compatibility.
  • Perform unit testing, troubleshooting, defect resolution, and support activities throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Maintain source code, configuration, and deployment repositories while adhering to development standards and best practices.
  • Contribute to CI/CD automation and identify opportunities to improve development, testing, and deployment processes.
  • Support change and release management activities, including deployment planning, service readiness, and production releases.
  • Provide advanced technical support and assist in resolving complex application issues when required.
  • Identify technical risks, dependencies, and constraints, and proactively communicate mitigation strategies to stakeholders.
  • Prepare technical documentation, knowledge transfer materials, and operational support documentation to ensure smooth transition to production support teams.
  • Ensure all solutions meet OLG standards for security, accessibility, performance, and user experience.
  • Participate actively in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the team.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE GAME
Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of professional experience developing modern web applications, with a strong focus on front-end development.
  • Strong hands-on experience with React and/or Vue.js, as well as JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, and Java, with experience building and integrating modern web applications and RESTful services.
  • Experience building responsive, accessible, and high-performing user interfaces for enterprise-scale web applications.
  • Experience with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), including component and template development, is preferred.
  • Minimum four (4) years of progressive experience delivering solutions within medium-to-large enterprise IT environments.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with UX designers, architects, developers, QA teams, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality digital solutions.
Relevant Skills:
  • Strategic understanding of how to troubleshoot issues and ability to think creatively to find solutions and push the envelope to find new use-cases
  • Excellent communication with the ability to produce high-quality output under strict and accelerated timelines
  • Effectively works in a team setting with a diverse set of SMEs and stakeholders
