Job summary

Great Blue Resorts is seeking a Front Desk Person to drive sales, handle guest check-ins, billing, and maintenance coordination in the Welcome Centre.

You will manage fee processing, schedule maintenance, coordinate checks, and ensure guest satisfaction while maximizing revenue through add-ons.

The role offers a friendly team, paid lunches, and flexible scheduling, with opportunities to grow within our Welcome Centre operations.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in high volume customer service role with proven multi-tasking abilities.
  • Experience processing payments, answering phones, and monitoring emails.
  • Excellent communication skills both internal and external.
  • Knowledgeable of Microsoft office applications including Word, Excel, PDF, and Outlook.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to perform multiple revenue generating opportunities and providing resort support with little to no supervision.
  • Must be available to work weekends and some evenings.

Responsibilities

  • Owner Management: Fee processing, logging new maintenance jobs, billing owners, and daily follow ups with maintenance team.
  • Rental management: Coordinate check-ins/outs and ensure cottages are ready on time, liaising with housekeeping and maintenance.
  • Concessions: Sell pontoon boat cruises, fishing boats, bike rentals, food/drink items, or merchandise to owners, contractors, and guests.
  • Property: Welcome Centre cleaning, incident reporting, opening/closing duties, and assisting with events for owners and guests.
  • Administration: Answer phones, monitor emails, draft communications, train and mentor staff, and manage visitor sign-in/out.

Front Desk Person Role Overview

The Front Desk person is a strong sales driver, profit focused and people oriented.

This Position is key to managing administrative activities in the Welcome Centre building and sustaining positive relationships, ensuring customer satisfaction while generating revenue through chargeable owner maintenance jobs plus through concession and add-on sales.

Responsibilities

The Front Desk Person role is to ensure the maximum profitability of all incremental business activities, while providing customer satisfaction through high standards of service.

The Front Desk Person’s responsibility will include but not limited to the following:

  • Owner Management
    • Fee processing – performing occasional collection calls and processing bi-annual fee payments for owners
    • Manage internal maintenance job system including logging new jobs, billing owners, and daily follow ups with maintenance team so owner can be updated of progress.
    • Collect yearly agreements and proof of insurance from owners
  • Rental management
    • Streamline interdepartmental communication between housekeeping team, front desk team, and maintenance team to ensure all cottages are ready for check in before designated time and then cleaned directly upon guest check out.
    • Perform guest check in and check outs with exceptional customer service and clarity
  • Concessions
    • Sale of pontoon boat cruises, fishing boats, bike rental, food/drink items or merchandise to owners, contractors and vacation guests
  • Property
    • Welcome Centre Cleaning – Entrance, interior, washrooms, signage
    • Incident Report management
    • Perform all opening and closing duties of welcome centre
    • Help to run owner and rental guest special events
  • Administration
    • Phones – answer calls, check messages, answer requests, record messages for other employees
    • Monitor resort emails and draft communications to owners when needed
    • Train and mentor new staff
    • Ensure all visitors report to Welcome Centre and sign in and out
Skills/Requirements
