Job summary

Kelly Cove Salmon Ltd., a division of Cooke Aquaculture Inc., is seeking a Freshwater Aquaculture Technician for its hatcheries in Eastern Charlotte County, NB. The role involves monitoring feed, water quality, and daily records while supporting brood stock production and hatchery operations.

The successful candidate will have aquaculture training or hands-on experience, be computer literate, and able to work varied shifts including weekends; a background check is required.

Qualifications

• Has completed aquaculture training or equivalent hands-on experience in spawning, egg incubation and early rearing of salmon fry.
• Experience with water quality testing is an asset.
• Criminal background check required by company policy.

Responsibilities

• Monitor feed and oxygen levels.
• Perform water quality tests and record results.
• Collect and input data; maintain daily records.
• Carry out daily farm routines and clean equipment.
• Assist other aquaculture technicians in hatchery operations.
• Handle brood stock production, spawning, eggs and fry.
• Feed, vaccinate, and perform culling as required.
• Operate pumps, filters, tanks and other equipment; maintain PPE.
