Job summary

Kelly Cove Salmon Ltd., a division of Cooke Aquaculture Inc., is seeking a Freshwater Aquaculture Technician for our hatcheries in Eastern Charlotte County, NB. You will monitor feed and oxygen, perform water quality tests, collect data and support daily farm routines.

The ideal candidate will have aquaculture training or relevant hands-on experience, be computer literate, and willing to work varied shifts including weekends.

Qualifications

Must have aquaculture training or equivalent hands-on experience in spawning, egg incubation and rearing salmon fry.
Experience with water quality testing is an asset.
Criminal background check required per policy.

Responsibilities

Monitor feed and oxygen levels and maintain water quality.
Complete water quality tests and collect data daily.
Perform daily farm routines and keep records of water chemistry.
Assist in brood stock production and spawning activities.
Operate, clean, and maintain pumps, filters, tanks and equipment.
Grade and weigh aquaculture stocks; handle chemicals with PPE.
