Job summary

Freson Market Ltd. in Edmonton is hiring a Full-Time Fresh Food Department Manager to oversee daily operations, drive inventory integrity, and maintain high product quality, with total compensation of $75,000+ per year.

You will lead a small team, plan promotions, manage scheduling, and ensure customer satisfaction while upholding Freson Bros. brand standards in a busy retail environment.

Qualifications

• 2 years minimum of progressive grocery/retail fresh department, butcher shop, bakery, deli, or restaurant management experience.
• History of meeting financial objectives and targets in a fast-paced retail or food service environment.
• Proven ability to lead a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Exceptional communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Passion for leading and developing others.
• Willingness to relocate to rural Alberta is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Inventory management through weekly ordering, record & invoice maintenance, and leading quarterly inventory counts.
• Oversee and execute daily department production to ensure high product quality, freshness, and optimal stock levels.
• Merchandise products for promotional and seasonal displays.
• Schedule department team members ensuring production and customer needs are met.
• Ensure company standards are met and department programs are followed.
• Assist the Store Manager with recruiting while maintaining a high-performance team.
• Train, develop, and motivate department team members.
• Resolve customer and department concerns & complaints, and provide a positive customer experience.
• Maintain a clean and sanitized work area.
• Champion the Freson Bros. brand and culture.
