Job summary

Islands West Produce seeks a reliable Production Line Operator to join our team. This role independently sets up, operates, monitors, and completes production runs on assigned lines and equipment for fresh-cut fruit and vegetables.

The operator maintains production efficiency, food safety, and workplace safety while supporting a team-oriented environment, performing changeovers, cleaning, and documentation as required.

Qualifications

• Previous production, food manufacturing, or packaging experience preferred (1 year).
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and ability to learn safety-labeled equipment.
• Ability to follow production specifications and SOPs.
• Good verbal and written English communication.
• Reliable with attention to detail and able to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor production lines and equipment.
• Verify product specs, packaging, and materials before runs.
• Monitor line performance and adjust to maintain safety and efficiency.
• Ensure product quality and packaging requirements are met.
• Troubleshoot routine issues and minimize downtime.
• Perform changeovers, cleaning, and sanitation; keep area safe and organized.
• Follow HACCP and safety procedures; complete documentation on time.
• Communicate production status and quality concerns to Lead Hand or Supervisor.
• Support line workers and assist in training new employees.
• Perform other duties as directed by Production Management.
