Job summary

Oxford Learning Centres in Canada is seeking a patient, enthusiastic tutor to support students with learning disabilities, autism, and other diverse needs.

You will assess abilities, develop individualized plans, and support homework, test prep, and study skills while collaborating with parents and other professionals to create an inclusive learning environment.

Experience with IEPs or assistive strategies is advantageous; strong English communication and adaptability are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience with learners who have learning disabilities, autism or ADHD.
• Ability to support students at elementary or secondary levels.
• Patient, encouraging, energetic and rapport‑building.
• Adapt teaching methods to individual strengths and needs.
• Strong communication with parents and professionals.

Responsibilities

• Assess the student’s strengths, challenges, and needs.
• Develop individualized tutoring strategies and lesson plans.
• Support homework, projects, test prep and academic skills.
• Teach study skills, organization, time management and note-taking.
• Use varied approaches and accommodations to aid understanding.
• Break down complex concepts into manageable steps.
• Provide positive feedback and monitor progress.
• Help build confidence, independence and learning habits.
• Communicate progress to parents or caregivers.
• Maintain a patient, respectful, and inclusive approach.
