Job summary

Oxford Learning Blainville is seeking part-time teacher-tutors for after-school and evening sessions in English, French, Math and Science. All lessons are pre-planned and teachers receive full training in our proven approach.

Ideal candidates hold a relevant degree or certification, strong English and French communication, and experience tutoring K-11. Hours are 4:00pm–8:00pm weekdays and 9:00am–1:00pm Saturdays, with a commitment through the school year.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching English, French, math and science to K-11 or equivalent.
• Strong written and oral communication in English and French.
• Familiarity with current K-11 curriculum in math and science.

Responsibilities

• Teach up to 3 students at a time in person and as needed online.
• Deliver pre-planned lessons following Oxford Learning methods.
• Complete post-lesson notes and daily student updates.
• Maintain a friendly, professional demeanor with students and families.

English, French, Math, & Science Teacher/Tutor Wanted

Oxford Learning Blainville is currently seeking part-time teacher-tutors for a role in our learning centre. This position is perfect for anyone who loves working with students, enjoys numbers and equations, and is passionate about helping others build their skills in these areas.

Teacher-Tutors at Oxford Learning do not have to lesson plan before class, as all lessons are pre-planned. Applicants will be fully trained in our proprietary philosophy and methods.

Position Requirements

All Teacher-Tutors at Oxford Learning work during after-school and evening hours (4:00pm - 8:00pm) as well as Saturdays (9:00am - 1:00pm). A commitment until the end of the school year is preferred. Continuing through the summer is even better. Your students will love working with you, and being reliable is a must.

This role is in-person. You must be able to commute to this location. This is not an online position. Relocation packages are not available. Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.

Education

• CEGEP, Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field
• Postsecondary students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered
• Teaching certification an asset
• Good knowledge of the current Kindergarten to Grade 11 curriculum including math and science

Experience

• Some experience teaching/tutoring English, French, math and science at a Kindergarten to Grade 11 (or equivalent) level
• Strong English and French written and oral communication skills
• Strong math skills and ability to guide students’ understanding
• Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time
