Job summary

Oxford Learning NDG is seeking a part-time teacher-tutor to work after school evenings and Saturdays, helping students with English, French, math and science. Lessons are pre-planned and training is provided as part of our proprietary approach; commuting to the NDG centre is required and relocation is not offered.

Ideal candidates are reliable, capable of guiding multiple students, and comfortable with both online and in-person formats.

Qualifications

  • Postsecondary students with tutoring experience will be considered.
  • Teaching certification an asset.
  • Good knowledge of current Kindergarten to Grade 11 curriculum including math and science.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching up to 3 students at a time.
  • Teaching online and in-person.
  • Following the Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies.
  • Filling in post-lesson notes.
  • Completing daily student communication updates.
  • Maintaining a friendly and professional manner at all times.

French, Math, and Science Teacher/Tutor Wanted

Oxford Learning NDG is currently seeking part-time teacher-tutors for a role in our learning centre. This position is perfect for anyone who loves working with students, enjoys numbers and equations, and is passionate about helping others build their skills in these areas.

Teacher-tutors at Oxford Learning do not need to plan lessons before class, as all lessons are pre-planned. Applicants will be fully trained in our proprietary philosophy and methods.

Position Requirements

All teacher-tutors at Oxford Learning work during after-school and evening hours (4:00 pm - 7:00 pm) as well as Saturdays (9:00 am - 1:00 pm). We prefer a commitment through the end of the school year. Continuing through the summer is even better. Your students will love working with you, and being reliable is a must.

This role is in-person. You must be able to commute to this location. This is not an online position. Relocation packages are not available. Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.

Education
  • Postsecondary students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered

Experience
  • Some experience teaching/tutoring English, French, math and science at a Kindergarten to Grade 11 (or equivalent) level
  • Strong English and French written and oral communication skills
  • Strong math skills and ability to guide students’ understanding
  • Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time

Job Type: Part-time

Salary Range: $18 - $19.50 / hour

  • Must be available Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4 pm - 7 pm.
