Job summary

The Saanich School District is hiring a temporary, 0.2 FTE teacher to support French Immersion and elementary learners on Wednesdays. The role requires a valid BC Teaching Certificate and demonstrated ability to adapt materials for diverse students.

You will work with students, families and colleagues to maintain high standards of instruction and inclusive practice, while continuing professional development and collaboration.

Qualifications

• Valid BC Teaching Certificate
• Commitment to support the full range of student abilities
• Effective communication with students, parents and colleagues
• Commitment to continuing professional development
• Successful experience with adapting and modifying materials for a diversity of learners
• Working knowledge of using computing technology to support learning
• A commitment to the Principles of Inclusive Schools and Principles of Learning
• Two years successful classroom experience at the elementary level including French Immersion
• Thorough knowledge of the elementary French Immersion curriculum
• Demonstrated use of highly successful instructional strategies for elementary students in an integrated environment
• Strong classroom management and organizational skills
• Ability to adjust curriculum and assessment strategies to meet the needs of a wide range of students
