Job summary

Fisheries and Oceans Canada seeks candidates for the Fraser Stock Assessment Program in the Fraser and Interior Area. This inventory-based process will staff future vacancies across the Pacific Region, with travel to remote field locations and living in field camps.

Applicants must meet education and experience criteria in stock assessments, field equipment, and leadership; willingness to travel up to five months annually; and readiness to work in challenging environments.

Qualifications

• Experience organizing and conducting stock assessments of anadromous salmonids.
• Experience operating and maintaining field equipment such as boats, motors, vehicles, inflatable rafts, seine nets, and biological sampling gear.
• Experience directing technical support personnel.

Responsibilities

• Organize and conduct stock assessments for Fraser River salmonids and related species.
• Operate and maintain field equipment including vessels and sampling gear.
• Lead field teams and work in remote field camps under challenging conditions.
