Job summary

Stella-Jones is seeking a Production Labourer in New Westminster, BC to handle branding, framing, inspecting and preparing wood products for treatment. The role involves hands-on labour in a manufacturing environment and working outdoors in all weather.

Responsibilities include operating chainsaw and mill equipment, banding and packaging, maintaining tools and work areas, and collaborating with a safety-conscious team. In-house training is provided to learn new skills and advance within the yard.

Qualifications

• Manufacturing or construction experience preferred.
• Experience utilizing hand tools— drills, peaveys, chainsaws, hammers, tape measures, etc.
• Valid driver''s license is required.
• Always demonstrate a strong focus on safety.
• Support a respectful environment and work well in a team setting.
• Must possess basic math skills.
• Ability to lift 50-75 lbs continually.
• Knowledge of wood products and defects.
• Able to learn and acquire new skills.
• In-house training is provided.
• Additional forestry skills such as log scaling, loader operator, log peeling and other machine operations are valuable assets for progression to other yard positions.

Position Summary

• Operate mill equipment

• Maintain tools, equipment, supplies and work areas.
