Responsibilities

• Check loading documents before and after loading.
• Confirm documents with shipper.
• Move, load and unload materials around the yard and plant.
• Operate forklift for lumber packaging or wrapping.
• Perform stock rotation and inventory counts.
• Load/unload trucks and kiln carts.
• Handle special orders and assist with housekeeping.
• Document and report equipment maintenance or issues.
• Operate safely following codes and Stella-Jones health and safety program.

The Forklift Operator is responsible for shipping, receiving and general forklift work within the lumber yard. Duties include supplying Stacker, unloading/loading trucks, stock piling lumber in yard from treating plant, loading/unloading kiln, loading/unloading infeed chains to plant.

Responsibilities:

• Checks loading documents before and after loading
• Confirms documents with shipper
• Moves, Loads and unloads material around the plant
• Forklift operation for lumber packaging or wrapping
• Makes effective stock rotation
• Loads/unloads trucks and kiln carts
• Hands pile special orders
• General clean-up
• Inventory counting
• Documents and reports mechanical operation and maintenance requirements of equipment
• Safe and responsible operation of company equipment
• Performs the work safely according to applicable codes, standards and to Stella-Jones health and safety program
• Performs other duties as assigned
