Job summary

A&P Contractors Inc in Calgary is seeking a skilled carpenter to join our team and deliver construction projects on site.

Responsibilities include reading blueprints, estimating labour and materials, building foundations, installing floors, walls, and roofs, and fitting windows and doors. Must have 2–3 years of experience and be available to start ASAP.

Qualifications

• Secondary school graduation certificate.
• 2–3 years of experience.
• Work must be at the physical location; no remote work.

• Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs.
• Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements.
• Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools.
• Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials.
• Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems.
• Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware.
• Schedule and coordinate work on sites.
• Survey building locations and levels.
• Supervise other workers.
• Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments
