Job summary

HOOPP's Financial Planning & Analysis team seeks a technically strong finance professional with investment knowledge and advanced Power BI capabilities. You will contribute to quarterly investment projections, benchmarking, cost allocations, and related analysis to support the Operating Plan and updates.

Qualifications

• University degree in finance, accounting, economics, business, data analytics or a related quantitative field.
• CFA designation or progress toward it is an asset; CPA or equivalent is also an asset.
• Demonstrated investment and analytics capability valued over any single designation.
• At least four years of FP&A, investment analysis or finance analytics experience.
• Strong knowledge of investment concepts, including asset classes, returns, costs and benchmarking.
• Experience analyzing large and complex financial datasets.
• Experience identifying and implementing automation and process improvements.
• Advanced Power BI skills including data modelling, DAX and Power Query.
• Advanced Excel and experience with financial models.
• Experience integrating data from multiple sources.
• Experience with Power Automate, SQL, Python is an asset.
• Experience with enterprise planning (EPM), budgeting or forecasting systems is an asset.
• Understanding of data quality, documentation, financial controls and data handling.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and improve quarterly investment projection with investment teams.
• Support benchmarking activities including annual report comparisons.
• Assist investment cost allocation initiatives and methodology development.
• Prepare investment-related analysis and commentary for Operating Plan updates.
• Support other investment-related analysis and reporting.
• Serve as FP&A go-to for Power BI, maintain and enhance reports.
• Expand Power BI use for planning, analysis and decision support.
• Analyze large financial datasets to identify trends and opportunities.
• Establish data definitions and quality checks for reliable reporting.
• Collaborate with data and technology teams on data sources and models.
• Identify and implement automation opportunities using AI and other technologies.
• Ensure documentation, data protection and finance controls.
• Apply AI in accordance with HOOPP policies.
• Collaborate with FP&A, investment teams and IT partners.
• Share knowledge and best practices to build analytics capability.
