Job summary

AutoCanada is seeking an FP&A Analyst in Edmonton with a hybrid work option. You will support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning, while analyzing performance against KPIs and budgets. The role involves evaluating capex and delivering insights to executives and stakeholders.

The successful candidate will have 2–3 years in finance, strong data translation skills, and outstanding communication and presentation abilities. This is a fast-paced, data-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Economics, Finance or related field.
• 2–3 years of experience in finance, accounting, or related analytical field.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint in a SharePoint environment.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to translate large datasets into actionable insights.

Responsibilities

• Support financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes for timely delivery to the Executive team.
• Monitor, analyze, and report on financial performance against KPIs and budget.
• Evaluate capital investment decisions and synthesize findings into recommendations.
• Contribute to performance analysis and board materials preparation.
• Identify process and cost optimization opportunities across the business.
• Assist with ad hoc reporting, analysis, and cross-functional projects.

Your area of focus

Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) acts as a financial advisor and trusted business partner to actively support decision‑making throughout AutoCanada. The FP&A Analyst will play a pivotal role in financial analysis, business planning, and internal reporting. We are looking for a curious, hard‑working, and driven problem‑solver with a ‘let’s‑get‑it‑done’ attitude, eager to develop alongside our growing FP&A team.

What drives your day‑to‑day?

• Support financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes to ensure timely delivery to Executive team and stakeholders
• Monitor, analyze, and report on the company’s financial performance against management and industry KPIs and budget
• Utilize financial knowledge and business acumen to evaluate capital investment decisions, and synthesize findings into cohesive recommendations
• Contribute to performance analysis and preparation of board materials
• Identify process and cost optimization opportunities across the business
• Assist with ad hoc reporting, analysis, and cross‑functional projects

What Are The Must Haves…

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Business, Accounting, Economics, Finance, or related field
• 2-3 years of experience in finance, accounting, or related analytical field
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint in a SharePoint environment
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to non-finance stakeholders
• Ability to work with various large datasets and experience in translating numerous data points into actionable and easy to understand insights
