Job summary

Rotaflow-Controls-Inc in Fort McMurray, AB is hiring a Full Time Skilled Labourer to join the Civil team at the Suncor Base Plant location. The role is site-based with a 10 day on/4 day off rotation, accommodations may be provided, and local residents are strongly considered.

Responsibilities include groundwork, shoring setup, site safety, equipment operation, and assisting in layout. Qualifications include 5 years in construction labour, industrial experience, and a valid Class 5 license.

Qualifications

• 5 years general labour experience in a construction setting.
• Oilsands or industrial experience an asset.
• Experience with civil, underground piping, shoring and working around heavy equipment.
• Valid Class 5 Drivers License.
• Mechanically inclined with strong organizational & problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills, written and verbal.
• Commitment to safety and quality.
• Knowledge and experience to determine the right tool required for the job.
• Confident to work independently and complete daily tasks according to schedule.
• Ability to properly lift objects, walk and stand for long periods of time, and work in adverse weather conditions.
• Previous Suncor experience (asset).
• Strong consideration given to Local Fort McMurray Residents.
• This is a Safety Sensitive Position.

Responsibilities

• Groundwork and excavation assistance, setting up shoring box and HDPE fusing.
• Operate and monitor air sampling devices in confined spaces.
• Fire/Spark watch and site safety duties.
• Operate tools and equipment including hand tools, jack hammer, and light plants.
• Hook up and drive small trailers and light equipment.
• Signal equipment and vehicles such as excavators and hydro vacs.
• Maintain a clean workspace and identify hazards.
• Assist in layout and material measurement.
