Job summary

PERI GmbH Formwork Scaffolding Engineering in Bolton, Ontario is seeking a Designer to develop safe, cost-effective formwork, shoring, and scaffolding solutions based on project requirements. You will prepare detailed 2D/3D drawings and material take-offs and support custom designs under supervision.

You will collaborate with engineers and technicians, conduct design calculations with PERI tools, manage documentation, and mentor junior staff.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 0 - 3+ years of experience in structural engineering or construction.
• Experience with structural analysis software is an asset.
• Knowledge of formwork or scaffolding design preferred.
• Familiarity with structural and architectural drawings and construction sequencing.
• Understanding of Canadian and Provincial Building Codes and Standards is an asset.
• PERI product knowledge and bilingual proficiency (English/French) are assets.

Responsibilities

• Develop formwork, shoring, and scaffolding solutions for a variety of construction projects.
• Produce general arrangement, assembly, and steel fabrication drawings in 2D and 3D.
• Collaborate with PERI Technical Sales Consultants to deliver cost-effective and practical solutions.
• Communicate with customers to clarify requirements and design expectations.
• Work with engineers to ensure compliance with CSA, OHSA, and applicable building codes.
• Perform and document design calculations using PERI’s structural analysis tools.
• Prepare accurate material lists and verify lists prepared by others.
• Maintain engineering documentation per Quality Management System and PPMP.
• Mentor and assist Engineering Interns, Draftspeople, and junior Designers.
• Conduct jobsite visits and provide technical support as needed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
