Slegg Building Materials in Langford, BC is seeking a dedicated Forklift Operator. The role supports warehouse operations by safely loading and unloading materials, preparing orders, and maintaining equipment with routine inspections.

You will work closely with team members to meet customer expectations and timetables. The position requires a propane forklift certification, at least two years of forklift experience, and solid math and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Valid forklift certification (propane) is required.
• Minimum of two years' forklift experience.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Knowledge of basic mathematics and basic hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily inspections of lift trucks and complete required forms.
• Ensure forklift maintenance and servicing requirements are met.
• Build orders to required specifications for delivery.
• Load and unload building materials in a safe and efficient manner.
• Check load contents for accuracy and secure materials.
• Ensure that all products are shipped on schedule and according to instructions.
• Maintain contact with supervisors and work to resolve issues as they arise.
• Act as an ambassador of the company with all employees and customers.
• Follow all regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
