Job summary

NFI is seeking a Forklift Operator I to safely operate material handling equipment within our warehouse, moving, locating, relocating, stacking and counting merchandise. The role supports inventory accuracy and efficiency, with responsibilities ranging from pre-operation inspections to order picking and loading.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED and some forklift experience, with certification through NFI preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 6 months forklift operation experience and/or experience using warehouse distribution equipment.
• Must qualify and pass NFI forklift certification.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective customer service skills and basic math competencies.

Responsibilities

• Operates all material handling equipment safely and efficiently, following established work practices and safety procedures.
• Completes and documents required pre-operation inspection forms for equipment.
• Stacks and stores merchandise in designated areas using forklift, clamp, or push-pull equipment.
• Unloads inbound shipments safely and moves product to storage locations.
• Pulls and prepares products for shipment in accordance with customer and operational requirements.
• Verifies that the correct quantity and product type are loaded and shipped.
• Performs order picking in an accurate, timely, and customer-service-focused manner.
• Uses RF scanning devices to support accurate inventory management.
