Job summary

Watson Building Supplies in Vaughan, Ontario is seeking a motivated Forklift Operator to prepare loads and unload building materials in the warehouse, operating a lift truck safely and efficiently alongside a dedicated team.

You will build orders to delivery specifications, perform daily inspections, ensure maintenance, secure loads, and communicate with supervisors to meet customer demands while adhering to safety and company procedures.

Qualifications

• Valid forklift certification (propane).
• Minimum of two years' experience.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Knowledge of basic mathematics.
• Basic hand tool skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily inspections of lift trucks and complete required forms.
• Ensure lift truck maintenance and servicing requirements are met.
• Build orders to required specifications for delivery.
• Load and unload building materials in a safe and efficient manner.
• Check load contents for accuracy and secure materials.
• Ensure that all products are shipped on schedule and according to specific instructions by management to meet customer demands.
• Maintain contact with supervisors and work to resolve issues as they arise.
• Act as an ambassador of the company with all employees and customers.
• Follow all regulations, company policies, and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
