STRIVE Recruitment Inc. is seeking a Forklift Operator for a permanent position in Milton, ON. You will safely load/unload building materials, operate a forklift, and ensure accurate order picking and staging for delivery.

Responsibilities

• Safely load and unload building materials on flat deck trucks and vans.
• Operate a heavy-duty forklift to move materials in warehouse and yard.
• Accurately pick and stage customer orders.
• Double-check loads before they leave the yard.
• Provide excellent customer service to customers and drivers.
• Communicate with Operations, Sales and Administration for team performance.
• Scan and track goods to correct locations.
• Maintain timely updates in the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
• Organize materials to keep a clean, efficient warehouse.
• Maintain a safe, organized work environment and follow safety policies.

THE ROLE

STRIVE is working with a well-established organization seeking a Forklift Operator to join their team in Milton, ON. You will be responsible for safely and efficiently loading, unloading, moving, picking, and staging building materials throughout the warehouse and yard. This role involves working with inbound and outbound goods, operating a forklift on flat deck trucks and vans, and ensuring customer orders are accurately prepared. Responsibilities

• Safely load and unload building materials on flat deck trucks and vans
• Operate a heavy-duty forklift to efficiently move materials throughout the warehouse and yard
• Accurately pick and stage customer orders
• Double-check loads before they leave the yard
• Provide excellent customer service to customers and truck drivers
• Communicate with Operations, Sales, and Administration to ensure optimal team performance
• Scan and track the movement of goods to their correct locations
• Maintain accurate and timely updates within the Warehouse Management System (WMS)
• Participate in the ongoing organization of materials to maintain an efficient and organized warehouse environment
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
• Follow company safety policies and procedures

Requirements

• Previous forklift experience loading and unloading flat deck trucks and vans
• Safety-focused with strong attention to detail
• Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment
• Physically fit with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. repetitively
• Must be comfortable working 90% outdoors in all weather conditions
• Industry experience from steel, lumber, construction is an asset
• Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions
• Working knowledge of RF scanners in a WMS environment is an asset
• Knowledge of building materials is an asset
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
