Job summary

Yakima Chief Hops is seeking a Warehouse Associate to transport products and organize Finished Goods inventory to improve accuracy and streamline shipments to customers. You will operate handheld scanners, prepare transfers, and receive stock from other locations while maintaining quality labels and a safe work environment.

The role requires basic education, strong math and computer skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or on a team.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent is preferred but not required.
  • Excellent mathematical, communication and computer skills; detail oriented and able to multitask.
  • Must be able to initiate, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
  • Effective written and verbal communication with coworkers and management.
  • Ability to learn ERP and WMS systems for data entry and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Operate handheld scanner and ensure accuracy of transfers/shipments.
  • Prepare products for transfers and shipping; double-check deliveries.
  • Receive transfers into Finished Goods Warehouse from other locations.
  • Maintain labels and cartons; replace as needed to ensure quality.
  • Assist with weekly inventory cycle counts and safety procedures.
  • Follow SOPs, company memos and safety requirements; participate in Safety Committee.

Job Summary:

The purpose of this position is to transport product and organize the inventory within the Finished Goods Warehouses to improve the accuracy of inventory and to streamline the shipment of goods to our customers.

Job Qualifications:
  • 1.High School diploma, GED or equivalent, preferred but not required.
  • 2.Excellent mathematical, communication and computer skills, be strongly detail oriented and be able to easily multi-task.
  • 3. Must be able to independently initiate, prioritize, and perform or solve work problems and ultimately achieve work objectives and meet deadlines.
  • 4.Must be able to effectively communicate in written and verbal form with co-workers, supervisor, and management.
  • 5.Written skills are necessary to properly fill out paperwork.
  • 6.Must be able to work independently and as a team member.
  • 7.Follow written (Standard Operating Procedures SOP’s, company memos & emails) and verbal Instructions.
  • 8.Minimum of six months related experience with demonstrated aptitude to learn on-the-job.
  • 9.Possess a strong work ethic to positively contribute to the company’s mission, vision, values and environmental policies and quality policies.
  • 10.Must have a positive attitude, support co-workers to obtain desired objectives, and assist others in their contributions.
  • 11.Ability to sit/stand/walk for extended periods of time and access stairs and ladders.
  • 12.Ability to bend, stoop, squat occasionally to frequently.
  • 13.Ability to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (in required areas) for extended periods of time.
  • 14.Ability to lift 23 kg (50 lbs.), carry up to 21 kg. (48 lbs.) occasionally to frequently within normal limits.
  • 15.Must be able to learn ERP and WMS systems to perform data entry & print reports.
  • 16.Attentive to the task and own surroundings.
  • 17.Preferably bilingual.
  • 18. Ability to operate and interact with a mobile handheld scanning device.
  • 19. Ability to work in a warehouse cooler environment for extended periods of time. (Excluding lunch/breaks) (PL)
  • 20. Forklift experience required.
Job Duties:
  1. Operate the following equipment:
  • Handheld Scanner
  • 2.Prepare products for transfers and shipping. Double check deliveries for accuracy. (SC)
  • 3. Receive transfers into the Finished Goods Warehouse, from other locations. (IF)
  • 4. Ensure the quality of labels and cartons are in good shape, replace them if necessary.
  • 5.Confer with department supervisor and team members to assess progress and discuss needed changes.
  • 6.Continuously look for ways to improve process efficiency and notify immediate supervisor of observations and recommendations.
  • 7.Meet with department supervisor and team members to assess progress and discuss needed changes.
  • 8.Maintain sanitary and safe work environment.
  • 9.Follow safety requirements.
  • 10.May actively participate on company’s Safety Committee.
  • 11.Ensure that company safety policies as well as federal, provincial, and local safety and environmental regulations are observed.
  • 12.Must have a complete understanding of company’s policies, SOPs, QPs, EPs, HACCP and c GMP that pertain to their department to ensure quality, safety, efficiency, and sustainability.
  • 13.Must adhere to all company policies.
  • 14.Examine documents, materials, and products. Monitor work processes to assess completeness, accuracy and conformance to standards and specifications.
  • 15.Perform all other duties as assigned by Supervisor and/or designee.
  • 16. Assist with weekly inventory cycle counts.
  • 17. Cross-trained for other responsibilities in Operations if needed.
  • 18.Perform all other duties as assigned by Manager/Supervisor or designee.
