Job summary

Nutreco is seeking a Forklift Operator to receive, store and transport raw materials, packaging materials, supplies and finished goods. The role supports inventory control, stock counts and on-time availability for production and shipping, while maintaining safety and quality standards.

The position is based in our warehouse and requires adherence to HSE and Nutreco guidelines, with responsibilities spanning receipt, storage, transportation and general housekeeping.

Qualifications

  • Experience operating forklift equipment.
  • Ability to perform stock counts and inventory reconciliation.
  • Work in accordance with HSE and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Receiving, handling and control of raw materials and goods to verify conformity with PO and shipping docs.
  • Store materials using a forklift in prescribed locations and ensure safety compliance.
  • Conduct periodic inventory counts and report deviations.
  • Transport materials to production/shipping as scheduled per production plans.
  • Perform basic operational tasks and checks on materials; report deviations to supervisor.
  • Maintain clean, safe work environment and follow SHEQ standards and procedures.

Job description

The Forklift Operator is responsible for receiving, storing and transporting of raw materials, packaging materials, supplies and finished goods, so that these be taken in storage in the prescribed manner and are available in time for production or shipping. He / she may also perform stock count and stock control activities, supporting adequate inventory and stock management. The position of Forklift Operator is located in a warehouse of an OpCo. The department is responsible for receipt, storage, transportation and dispensing of raw materials, packaging materials, supplies, finished products and waste materials.

Job Description:
  • Receiving, handling and control of raw materials and goods supplied, so that it is determined whether deliveries are in accordance with the purchase order and shipping documents, and are in good condition. To do this primarily, the Forklift Operator:
    • Checking receipts on appearance and on the basis of lading and packing slip, reporting defects to supervisor
    • Marking lading, and record of receipt and quality data in the system
  • Storage
    • Stores of raw materials, packaging materials, finished goods and pallets by a forklift truck so that they are placed in the prescribed storage locations, and the requirements in terms of safety are met.
    • conducts inventory counts, periodically comparing actual stock with the administrative inventory, detection and reporting of deviations
  • Transportation of raw materials, packaging materials, supplies, finished products and waste materials to and from the production departments on the basis of production planning, at the request of production management and at its own discretion, so that the production may have the right goods on time, and stagnation by of product accumulation can be prevented.
  • Operational support / Operator activities
    • May perform various manual operational activities and/or operates basic machinery / tools
    • May performs basic checks and controls on materials, like checking weights, size, visual checks etc. Signals deviations with supervisor
  • Other activities as required, such as:
    • Performs user maintenance on rolling stock
    • Performs other duties as required
  • Good housekeeping / Compliance
    • Keeps the rolling stock and other equipment, the work place and environment clean and tidy;
    • Cleans all equipment and work environment
    • Performs all activities in compliance with the relevant HSE and quality standards, both internal Nutreco standards as well as external standards.
  • Communication
    • Reports defects, deviations and other non-compliance issues to the supervisor
    • Discusses work with colleagues and supervisor
    • Provides information when asked, follows-up instructions and guidance from colleagues and supervisor
  • Compliance
    • Works in compliance with all applicable SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality) requirements and regulations, as well as with operational and legal requirements safety regulations and procedures, as well as technical standards
    • Signals potential hazardous and / or unsafe situations, takes appropriate action is case of imminent unsafe situations
