Job summary

Stella-Jones is seeking a Forklift Operator to handle lumber packaging and wrapping with 12-hour rotating shifts. The role requires basic math, attention to detail, and safe forklift operation as part of inventory and packaging tasks at our Alberta facility.

The position offers a starting hourly wage of $35.95 plus applicable premiums, with extensive benefits and a strong safety program. Prior lumber yard experience is an asset for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Proficiency in English, spoken and written.
• 1 year of related experience; lumber yard experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Checks loading documents before and after loading.
• Forklift operation for lumber packaging or wrapping.
• Makes effective stock rotation.
• Lumber wrapping and inspection as required.
• Lumber packaging as required.
• Lumber tagging/banding.
• Hands pile special orders.
• Inventory counting.
• Documents and reports mechanical operation and maintenance requirements of equipment.
• Safe and responsible operation of company equipment.
• Performs the work safely according to applicable codes and the Stella-Jones health and safety program.

Position Summary

The Forklift Operator is responsible for lumber packaging and wrapping as required.

Position Details:

• 12 hour Rotating shifts
• Hourly wage: $35.95 + applicable premium

Responsibilities

• Checks loading documents before and after loading.
• Forklift operation for lumber packaging or wrapping.
• Makes effective stock rotation.
• Lumber wrapping and inspection as required.
• Lumber packaging as required.
• Lumber tagging banding.
• Hands pile special orders.
• General clean-up.
• Inventory counting.
• Documents and reports mechanical operation and maintenance requirements of equipment.
• Safe and responsible operation of company equipment.
• Performs the work safely according to applicable codes, standards and to Stella-Jones. health and safety program.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
