Job description

Responsible for providing quality workmanship, consistent service, and technical knowledge to customers. Performs tasks related to testing, diagnosing, repair, maintenance, and reconditioning of equipment such as zoom booms, boom lifts, forklifts (small to heavy), and scissor lifts.

The Role
  • Inspect and diagnose components and equipment for servicing needs.
  • Communicate with equipment owners for authorization of servicing and repairs.
  • Service and repair equipment in the shop and on-site.
  • Recondition and remanufacture components for equipment, engine, and hydraulic repairs.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with customers.
  • Communicate servicing needs with Branch Supervisor/Manager.
  • Complete service paperwork and update records.
  • Fill out warranty information and work orders.
  • Participate in manufacturer and in-house training, during or after work hours.
  • Participate in all required Health & Safety training and comply with safety practices.
  • Perform duties safely and work with manufacturer online support.
  • Maintain a professional company image.
  • Meet requirements of Field Level Hazard and Job Hazard assessments.
The Candidate
  • Education: Trade certification, Journeyman Red Seal, or registered in a related Provincial Apprenticeship program.
  • Work Experience: 2-3 years.
  • Knowledge: Strong communication skills, customer service, mechanical aptitude, analysis, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in maintenance and repairs of forklifts, telehandlers, etc., is an asset.
  • Automotive mechanics seeking a change are encouraged to apply.
