Aerotek in Toronto, ON is seeking a Forklift Driver to operate a counterbalance propane forklift in a busy manufacturing and warehouse setting for household cleaning products.
You will move materials, support production lines, load/unload trucks, wrap pallets, and use SAP, scanners, and shipping software. This contract-to-hire role offers safety protocols and path to permanent employment.
This role focuses on operating a counterbalance propane forklift in a busy manufacturing and warehouse environment that produces and packages household cleaning products. You will spend most of your time safely moving materials to and from production lines and the warehouse, while also supporting general material handling and pallet wrapping tasks to keep operations running smoothly.
Operate a counterbalance propane forklift safely and efficiently in tight and busy production and warehouse areas.
Continuously supply production lines with required materials to ensure uninterrupted operations.
Move fully packed skids from the end of production lines to designated locations in the warehouse.
Load and unload trucks, ensuring products are handled carefully and stored correctly in racking systems.
Use pallet wrapping machines and manually wrap skids as needed to prepare products for storage and shipment.
Use computers, scanners, and shipping software to support production, shipping, and receiving activities.
Follow all health and safety procedures, including proper use of PPE and adherence to site protocols.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, especially when working with powdered products.

Minimum 2 years of recent forklift experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
Valid certification on counterbalance propane forklifts.
Demonstrated ability to operate a forklift in tight, confined spaces safely and confidently.
Experience with material handling, including moving pallets, feeding production lines, and staging finished goods.
Experience loading and unloading trucks and working with racking systems.
Comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.
Basic experience with SAP or similar enterprise resource planning systems.
Comfortable using computers, scanners, and shipping software for production, shipping, and receiving tasks.
Prior manufacturing experience.
Ability to work safely around perfumes and fragranced products.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to health and safety procedures.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with machinery running nearby.
Good communication skills and ability to work well within a team.
Willingness to wear required PPE, including hairnet and beard cover when on the production floor.
Adaptability to work in areas that may feel cramped or tight due to equipment and racking.
This is a manufacturing and warehouse setting that can be loud when production machines are running. The facility is generally clean, though working with powdered products may create some dust. Employees do not come into contact with harmful chemicals, but products contain perfumes, so individuals should be comfortable working around fragrances. Some areas of the plant and warehouse can feel cramped due to equipment and racking, and forklift operation requires careful navigation in tight spaces. The site offers a large lunch room and maintains a casual dress code. Personal protective equipment is required on the production floor, including a hairnet and beard cover where applicable. Work hours are Monday to Friday, with openings on a 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm shift at one location and a 2:30 pm to 10:45 pm shift at another.
