Job summary

The Saskatoon Police Service is seeking a data management specialist within the Criminal Investigations Bureau. You will organize and convert investigative data and exhibits for electronic systems and assist prosecutors with disclosure.

You will review financial documents, enter data, and help identify key evidence for court use. Ideal candidates have a post-secondary accounting-related education, two years of related office experience, and strong written and verbal communication skills.

Qualifications

• Completed a recognized one-year post-secondary business program including Introductory Accounting 1/2 and Intermediate Accounting 1/2; Management Accounting 1/2.

Responsibilities

• Manage, prepare, oversee and convert investigative data to electronic formats to support court proceedings.
• Assist liaising with Crown Prosecutors for court disclosure.
• Organize data (paper exhibits) for entry into electronic applications (e.g., Major Case Management).
• Enter investigative data into electronic applications after reading documents to identify key information.
• Assist investigators in identifying evidence in financial data and creating documents to capture that evidence for court use.
• Proofread documents for accuracy and consistency against source information and police systems.
