Job summary

Horizon Contracting Group seeks a Landscape Maintenance Foreman for the seasonal period in Canada. You will lead a field crew, coordinate daily outdoor work, and ensure quality across landscape maintenance tasks in all weather conditions.

Role emphasizes hands-on leadership, safety, and customer service while operating equipment and maintaining records. 4x10 hour days offer a long weekend and outdoor work throughout the season.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in landscaping or related field.
• Experience leading or supervising a crew.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
• Safety certifications (OFA Level 1, Fall Protection) an asset.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and delegate daily work to keep jobs on track.
• Lead, coach, and support your crew’s performance and development.
• Troubleshoot challenges, manage incidents, and support conflict resolution.
• Inspect, maintain, and perform minor repairs on equipment.
• Operate a truck and trailer safely and professionally.
• Represent Team Horizon with professionalism and excellent customer service.
• Champion safety through toolbox talks and proper PPE use.
• Complete daily and weekly paperwork including inspections, reports, and timecards.

We’re a supportive group of professionals who bring energy, skill, and attention to detail to every property.

This seasonal leadership role typically runs from March/April through October or November and we are looking to round out our crew through the end of this season with the ability to look forward afterward.

As a Landscape Maintenance Foreman , you’ll lead a dedicated crew while working closely with the Maintenance Field Manager. You’ll be hands-on in the field, guiding your team, ensuring quality work, and helping bring divisional goals to life — all while enjoying the outdoors.

Experience & Skills

• 2+ years in landscaping or equivalent education
• Experience leading or supervising a crew
• Comfortable with physically demanding outdoor work
• Strong communication, teamwork, and customer service skills
• Experience operating landscape equipment
• Basic mechanical and plant knowledge
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic

Physical Requirements

This is a 100% labour-based role requiring lifting 50+ lbs and repetitive bending, crouching, twisting, and standing or walking for extended periods.

Your office is outdoors — rain or shine. Shifts are 4 x 10-hour days , giving you a 3-day weekend . Dress for the weather and embrace the elements.

This role runs spring through October or November .
